For me, one of the easiest recipe's out there is fried rice, it looks like a complicated dish but its one of the quickest and simplest one's out there! I tend to make fried rice when I have left over stuff in my fridge that I need to use up. I say it's the adult version of feeding a baby with an airplane. To make adults eat left overs, just beautify it and put it in fried rice! Them unknowing adults will never know the difference! Mwahaha... Anyyyyhuu..
What have I got in my fridge today? Green beans and frankfurters. Ok, that will do the trick!
Ingredients (1 person)
- 2 Cloves Garlic, Crushed & Chopped (This is optional but makes the dish fragrant.)
- Handful of Green Beans, Chopped into pea size chunks
- 1 Frankfurter Sausage, Finely Chopped
- 1 Spring Onion, Finely Chopped (This is optional too, but I find it makes my fried rice taste better)
- 1 Egg
- Half (Rice) Cup of dried jasmine rice, Cooked and left for 1 day
- 2 Tbsp of Cooking Oil
- 1 Tbsp of Soy Sauce
- 1 Tsp of Sesame Oil
- 1/4 Tsp of Salt
(To be honest, the only thing that is needed for fried rice is: oil, rice, egg, soy sauce and salt. All the rest of the ingredients are extras!)
Directions
6. Bust that criminal yolk and when the egg is 3/4 cooked fold the rice into the egg and stir together.

[Ok going to have to side track slightly here and mention a lil something on the fried rice flip! I am a master of the fried rice flip! If you can flip rice in a pan, this is where you can showcase your skills! Pancake flippers do not know about the fried rice flip. Level up!]
8. Add in spring onions and sesame oil and stir and flip for 1 minute.
9. Serve!
Easy peasey, lovely jubbly! You can add in extra salt and soy sauce to your taste- what ever makes you happy. The joy with fried rice, is that you can be creative with it!My octopus frankfurter very happy on the island of fried rice. He's requested pineapples for next time!
